When the first Call of Duty game was released in 2003, it was a huge success. The franchise is now easily one of the most lucrative and successful action-shooter series in history. With each instalment, the Call of Duty series has evolved and changed – with this latest instalment, Call of Duty: World at War: highly compressed 10mb 79, the series has reached a whole new level. Call of Duty: World at War can be perceived as an attempt to take the franchise back to its roots – WW2 – but it also takes many aspects from other previous games such as modern weapons and combat techniques. The campaign and online multiplayer features make this instalment an awesome gaming experience. The effects and animations continue to surprise and impress – not everything is perfect – but the graphics and gameplay are some of the best. Call of Duty: World at War doesn’t have a bad story or characters – it is more or less similar to other Call of Duty games, which seem to be on the decline now. There are some minor flaws though, such as different guns being used throughout the game which can lead to some confusion for players who haven’t had previous experience with these weapons. Call of Duty: World at War has both good and bad points. The weapons are unique, but some are better than others. The maps are very different from each other. The only thing that I don’t like about the maps is that they are all pretty much the same in many ways. The main characters are actually pretty okay, but they can get annoying sometimes due to their stupidity. But overall, the characters in this game are one of the best things about it. The Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer is definitely a highlight feature of this game, but it is pretty much the same as other Call of Duty games. There are a lot of different weapons and different maps – but the features are the same. It would have been nice to see a new multiplayer mode – especially with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 due out soon. Another main feature in this game is the zombies mode – which has gotten a huge boost from Call of Duty: World at War, but it still isn’t as good as some other zombie games. It would have been nice to have more features in this mode. Call of Duty: World at War is an awesome game that you should definitely play if you are a fan of the Call of Duty series. With the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 coming out, it will be very interesting to see what happens with this one in the future. Similar to other Call of Duty games, it is great for multiplayer but can get boring in single-player due to the lack of many features.
