The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on 7 September 2011 . It also screened at the AFI Fest on 23 December 2011 . The film currently has a rating of 74% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 8 reviews.Based on the reviews and audience feedback, this is the second published critique of the film by Stephen Farber who gave the movie a rating of 2/5 stars. He had four main complaints with this movie: 1) The movie is slow-going and plodding: "The Attacks Of 2611 moves at a snail's pace and even whipsawes through its action sequences. There is too much screen time spent with Prentice as she goes from bad dream to bad dream". He also criticizes that "it takes about half an hour for things to start rolling". 2) The characters are uninteresting: "The characters in this movie are so flat and cardboard-cutout they could be thrown away in the trash with little difficulty. We learn nothing about Beatrice's parents, why she became an actress or even what her career has been like". "She just seems to come out of nowhere into the war zone with virtually no preparation". 3) What's going on? "The Attacks Of 2611 asks a lot of questions but doesn't offer any answers". 4) The action sequences are crude and stupid: "Once things start to move, they move at a rapid pace. You can tell from the moment the film starts that it hopes to emulate Memento in its use of disorienting temporality. But it doesn't have the same edge or the same playfulness". He also criticizes that "The movie's second half is even worse than its first" because "there are no payoffs for the viewer, only random images...
